Baby showers are a great way to celebrate a baby's arrival into this world. There are so many things to consider when planning a baby shower. You need to make important decisions regarding the favors, games, gifts, decorations and cake. One popular cake and decoration idea is a diaper cake.

Diaper cakes are nothing more than baby diapers arranged in the shape of a cake. They also make an excellent centerpiece or gift. It's common to use baby related items, like bibs, rattles, or cloths as decorations for your cake. By giving the entire cake to the mother-to-be, you'll be able to give her many items that she may need.

Directions for a diaper cake are easy. You can either use disposable diapers or cloth. It's best to find out which ones the mom is planning to use. Begin by rolling up a diaper and placing a rubber band around it to hold it in place. Then roll up several more diapers and place it inside the same rubber band. This will be your bottom layer. Do the same thing with fewer diapers for your second and third layers respectively. Place the layers on top of each other. Don't forget to decorate the cake with the items listed above. It's also a good idea to wrap the diaper cake with cellophane, to make sure everything stays in place and it travels easily. When you get to the baby shower, you can unwrap it and place it on the center of the table for everyone to see.
