What Foods Increase Breastmilk Production - Get the True Facts on What Foods Increase Breast Milk

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:23 AM

By Michael D Thompson

While stimulating breast milk production is not often associated with one specific food, increasing milk production can be accomplished by adopting eating habits that may promote an increase in breast milk production. Lets first start by making one point very clear; your diet is an essential key component that is often overlooked when assessing your breast milk production. Many mothers neglect their food and nutritional needs due to the high demands of having a new born baby. Its all to common for mothers to be overwhelmed with changing diapers, doctor visits, comforting the baby, etc., that by the end of the day the mother is left exhausted and under nourished. Pointing out this major fact above shows how valuable a mothers diet is. An estimated 500 additional calories per day are needed by a nursing mother. Answer this question; What do most first time mothers have in mind before they even give birth to their new born Hint: How am I going to loose all this weight so I can fit back in my regular size clothes. Does that sound like an expecting mother you know or have known? The new mother ends up going on a diet to lose weight in the shortest time possible, causing loss in energy and you guessed it, a possible loss in breast milk production.

Water is a key essential liquid that all nursing mothers need to drink in order to replenish fluids loss during breast feeding. Urban legend will lead you to believe that drinking beer can increase breast milk. Could this be true? If you where to investigate what key ingredients in beer could promote breast milk production, you might find that its not the alcohol, which by the way is not good for the baby, but the Brewers Yeast thats used to make the beer. Taking Brewers yeast can help increase breast milk production. Drinking beer has actually been shown to decrease breast milk production because breastmilk flavored with alcohol is not something a baby is going to like, which means the baby is not going to breast feed often, therefore resulting in less breast stimulation.

Soda, coffee and other caffeinated drinks have been shown to stimulate production of breast milk in nursing mothers. The main ingredients in the mentioned list of drinks all contain caffeine. Beware that caffeine in large amounts can have negative effects on you and your baby; moreover the caffeine can stay in the system of babies much longer than that of an adult. So, if youre going to drink caffeine, drink in moderation, i.e. one cup at most. Caffeine can constrict blood vessels causing stress; therefore if it stresses adults guess what it will do to your baby. Just take it easy on the caffeine.

These are foods to help increase breast milk production:

Brown Rice contains B vitamins, selenium, iron, fiber and manganese.

Avocados contains potassium, vitamin B6, and Pantothenic acid

Beets high in potassium

Carrots high in vitamin C

Barley high in phosphorus, magnesium, and vitamin B6.

Dulse a red algae high in B vitamins, iron, and potassium.

Kombu edible kelp rich in glutamic acid, which is responsible of one of the five basic tastes.

The Benefits of Using Rhodiola Rosea Root.

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:17 AM

By Anne Harvester

Rhodiola rosea root is among the bulk organic herbs that belongs in every home apothecary. When used correctly, bulk herbs such as rhodiola rosea root can have beneficial effects on overall health and well-being, and are very economical when compared to traditional commercial pharmaceuticals.

Alternatives to Big Pharma

Buying bulk organic herbs has become more mainstream as large drug corporations continue to display their blatant disregard for human life, health and safety in the name of profits while private health insurers are allowed to deny health care to all but the wealthy. There are increasing numbers of people who are seeking natural and more accessible alternatives, such as the rhodiola rosea root.

Even natural herbs can have unpredictable effects when not used properly. However, those who are willing to educate themselves and proceed with caution can often treat their own ailments with dried herbs such as rhodiola rosea with far less expense and risk, and regain control over their own health care to a large degree.

About Roseroot

Rhodiola rosea root is also known as Golden Root and Roseroot, although it is not a rose, nor even a member of the rose family. This is often purchased as bulk organic herbs and is actually a member of the botanical family that includes the jade plant and the popular succulent known as โhen and chicks.โ

As a succulent, you might guess that rhodiola rosea would thrive in dry climates โ and youโd be right. Unlike desert succulents however, this particular plant prefers cold air at high altitudes. Rhodiola rosea is found in mountain ranges throughout the Northern Hemishphere, including the Rockies, Pyrenees, Swiss and Carpathian Alps, the Himalayas and the Arctic ranges of Scandinavia, Russia, Siberia and Alaska.

Historical Usage

Dried herbs such as rhodiola rosea root have long been valued for the properties that allowed people to cope with harsh environments. This plant has been used in far northern parts of the world where winters are long and cold and sunlight disappears for months at a time. Siberians, Finns and Scandinavians have used it for centuries in order to deal with what is now known as Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD โ a specific kind of depression caused by the absence of sunlight.

Not surprisingly, rhodiola has been found by scientists to be effective in the treatment of depression. A recent study conducted in Russia demonstrated that the use of rhodiola rosea caused a marked improvement in subjectโs physical and mental facilities, and significantly, resulted in the prevention of altitude sickness.

Choosing the Right Rhodiola

Bulk herbs can vary a great deal in terms of quality. Bulk organic herbs are by far the best choice, as these have been raised without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. When stocking your own personal apothecary with dried herbs, whether for cooking or โ in the case of rhodiola rosea root โ medicinal purposes, bulk herbs are the most cost-effective, while bulk organic herbs are of the highest quality.

5 DIY baby shower gift projects

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:20 AM

By Bill Williams

1. Gift baskets

First obtain a laundry basket or a craft basket, the size is dependent on the number of items that you wish to place in the basket. Fill the basket with baby laundry detergent, your favorite pre wash, stain remover, wipes to go, and some fabric softener and place in the basket.

If you are a group wishing to give that personalized baby shower basket, in addition to the items mentioned above you can add get baby outfits, baby toys and stuffed toys.

You can arrange all these small items with tissue paper in the laundry basket, which will serve as your gift basket.

A further idea is to get every member of the group contributing to the gift basket to provide a small gift card with a special personal message and a small gift item which could be an essential or something to pamper the parents to be. A good idea is to include a few gift vouchers.

2. Diaper Cakes

Since the number of diapers needed determine the size of the diaper. For multi-tier diaper cakes the general guideline is to use twice as many diapers on the bottom tier as the previous tier.

Diapers should be rolled into cylinders and use rubber bands to keep the cylinders in shape. It is best to make the tiers bottom up and stick the diaper cylinders together using velcro strips. Once you have assembled the tier using the desired number of diapers, complete the tier by using some fancy ribbon wrapped round the tier.

Normally the top tie contains a special item such as a keepsake or baby toy. In addition, the top diaper tier can be further decorated by attaching suitable stuffed toys.

3. Crochet gifts

Baby shower gifts could include baby hats, baby layettes, baby booties, baby rompers, baby blankets and baby bibs.

Other ideas could include specialist baby item bags such as diaper bags, bottle bags and baby hygiene bags.

4. Cross stitch gifts

Either obtain a cross stitch kit or download a cross stitch pattern comprising the desired design. The completed project can be mounted in a frame or used to personalize a blanket or item of clothing. Smaller designs can be glued to cards or onto albums offering that special one of a kind gift.

When using your cross stitch project to personalise a blanket or indeed any item of the baby's clothing, having stitched your project onto the item you wish to personalise, you may consider adding some form of fancy border to both highlight the design and also hide the join of the cross stitch aida cloth to the baby item.

5. Embroidery gifts

If you are feeling more adventurous, use iron-on transfers of the images you want as follows. Set the iron temperature to high. Lay down the item you wish to embroider and place the transfer face down where you would like it to be. Make sure to leave enough room so you can attach the hoop. Tape or hold the pattern firmly in place and glide the iron over the design. You need to do it only two or three times, pressing hard so a light trace of the design will appear. Do not make it too dark because you do not want it to show after you have embroidered it then finally peel off the transfer.

Attach the hoop around the design, so that the fabric is tight like a drum. Find your starting point and bring the needle up through the bottom of the design and out the top.

Bring the needle back down. Continue the process until you have stitched the entire design, switching thread colors as desired.

When you finish, turn the piece over, snip the thread, tie it in a knot at the base of the fabric and snip excess. Iron the finished embroidered item so it is crisp.

How to Make a Diaper Cake

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:17 AM

By Criss White

Hosting a baby shower or looking for a great gift for a new mom? A diaper cake
makes a fantastic centerpiece for any baby shower and is also a very nice gift
that the new mom will find useful. Here are the basics on how to make your own
diaper cake:

1) First, you must decide how big you want the diaper cake. The size of the
cake will determine how many diapers you need. Here are some general guidelines:

Top tier - 5-6 diapers

2nd Tier - 15 diapers

3rd Tier - 30 diapers

2) Roll the diapers vertically into cylinders and use scotch tape or rubber
bands to hold the shape. Make the bottom tiers first by attaching the diapers
together either with safety pins or tape. You can easily form a cylinder which
will represent the bottom layers of the cake.

3) If you like, you can wrap the bottom layers of the cake with a blanket.
You can attach the tiers to each other with adhesive or pins. Glue can also
be used, but is messier when trying to disassemble the cake.

4) The top tier can contain a special item, like a baby bottle keepsake or
teddy bear. For a bottle, you can attach the diapers around the bottle. Stuffed
animals can be pinned to the top layer of the cake.

5) Other items can also be used to decorate the cake, including pacifiers,
ribbons, and colored paper. Feel free to use your creativity to attach other
useful items or fun decorations to the cake.

Diaper cakes have become increasingly popular at baby showers. With a little
time and effort, you can create a beautiful centerpiece for your baby shower
or an unforgettable gift for the new mom to be.

Online Memorials โ Selection Based on Website Features

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:18 AM

By CemeterySpot

Just like everyone deserves a proper and fitting funeral and burial/cremation, your departed loved ones deserve a high quality online memorial. In these times when we have the ability to share our memories with family, friends, co-workers and others we need to make an online memorial part of the funeral and grieving process. So, just what should we look for in both a website that hosts memorials, and in the quality and features of the memorials themselves? In this article we will take a look at the things to look for when choosing a memorial website.
When we do a search for memorial or online memorial we find a multitude of choices. Some are set up with a look and feel of a social networking website while some have the appearance of a more traditional website. The critical factor here is not to let your emotions over-ride the need to analyze the various features each website has to offer. And, to see what you may need sometime in the future whether you think you need it now or not. Establishing an online memorial should not be any more flippant of a decision than you would make in choosing a funeral home, burial vs. cremation, or cemetery. Letโs face it, you want to make the right decision the first time. You donโt want to have to continuously set up online memorials on a variety of websites. You want to pick the right one and enjoy continuously updating and visiting the online memorial and the memories it evokes.
Regardless of which online memorial site and style you choose, the website should have certain basic features, look friendly and be easy to navigate with lots of intra-website page links. In that way, you donโt get stuck on a particular page with limited ways to get to the features you want elsewhere on that website.
Now, letโs get into some of the specifics of what a good online memorial website should offer.
Several ways to order/establish your memorial and a good system to find memorials. With more than one path to get to the order form you can feel comfortable that when it comes time to update and add to your memorial the developer of the website has made it easy for you. This is usually the case even if the order form and edit functions are separate. You also want to know that when people come looking for the memorial and canโt remember the url, or the specific address of it, that they will have an easy time finding it by other methods provided by the website.

Sample memorials readily visible from thumbnail, or other, links on the Home Page. You should be able to see samples of the online memorials that have already been established on the website. This will allow you to see the potential and the drawbacks of your online memorial on that website. You hopefully will see lots of positive features that you will keep in mind when planning your memorial. You also may see some warning signs that may cause you to beware of the look and feel of the memorials and help you decide that these donโt meet your expectations.

Resources with links to companies, organizations and associations that will be helpful to anyone who needs information about funerals, burials, cremation, etc. The website should act as a resource for you. It should provide various components toward a complete community system. The website should assist in meeting your needs for information about as many places to seek help or assistance related to the death care industry. It should be a mini topical search engine.

Testimonials from current customers and viewers of the website. People should have the ability to leave feedback about the website. These comments can often give you a clue about the level of satisfaction with the website. There doesnโt have to be a large amount of website testimonials there just needs to be some. A website without any user/viewer testimonials often shows that those who visited the website are uninvolved or apathetic.

Helpful articles that allow for both professionals and โregularโ folks to give advice, tell stories that you may relate to, and cover a variety of topics. The website should provide articles on a variety of death care and grief support related topics. The articles should provide numerous perspectives and not just the viewpoints of the website owner. Hopefully, articles are available from both professionals (Psychologists, counselors, doctors, religious figures etc.) and lay people. This mix is important because it is frequently the stories of someone who has gone through a particular situation that is the most helpful since it was written from the heart, as a grief release, and was written in simple, non-technical language. The articles should have a comment feature so the reader can give feedback. There should also be (when available) contact info of the authors so that readers of this community can contact them outside of the website.

Provide a forum with suggested topics. The forum is an excellent way for members of the website community to ask for and seek advice. Similar to the articles area there is interaction for all to see and the ability to contact each other outside of the website. If you find a memorial website where there are suggested forum topics with little or no participation start the conversations yourself. And, invite those you know to participate. It may just be that the website, though excellent, is new; or, it may be that everyone is waiting for someone else to be first. Your posts and those of your invited friends will signal that it is ok for others to join in.

Offer a community incentive of some sort. This could be anything from free hosting, to some other value added incentive like donating a portion of your fees to a worthwhile organization. From a personal standpoint some people like to be associated with others who have an affinity to a particular cause; others, would rather make the choice of where to donate their money on their own and find this dictatorial since they may prefer donations going to another preferred charity. This can happen even if they agree that the charity supported by the website is worthwhile.

The company behind the website should be a member in good standing with one, or more, recognized and reputable organizations or associations in the death care industry. There are many excellent organizations that provide support and assistance to companies within the death care industry. They provide information, ideas, technical support, and so much more. The fact that the online memorial website, and its owner, is a member of one of those trade organizations or associations is a positive sign. This shows that the website owner cares about what is happening in this industry and wants to associate with positive influences for self-regulation and improvement.

If the online memorial website charges for its hosting services there should be some type of unconditional money back guarantee for a predetermined length of time. Websites with a social networking concept usually give their services for free. Typically, in the arena of online memorials, they do not offer the features available in the better websites. On the free websites there tend to be a lot more participants who are younger (no credit card is necessary to use it) and many who are less dedicated to creating a high quality memorial site. This is not always the case but it is something that must be considered when viewing and selecting your memorial website. The online memorial websites that charge hosting or participation fees should give some type of grace period before charges begin, or, some type of money back guarantee. Remember, you are the customer and you must be satisfied or you should email or call the website contact and let them know of your problem or dissatisfaction. If they are helpful and have good customer service then they should be commended with your loyalty.

The online memorial website should have some provision to assure its longevity. Letโs face the facts of business, especially internet related business. Over the years many internet business have come and gone. Some looked great. Some had lots of apparent online participation. Some had huge venture capitalist dollars funding them. Yet, a great many, even those with big names, folded. The last thing you want is to pick a website that seems to meet all of your requirements and then find out that, like many businesses, it was undercapitalized or mismanaged, and can not afford to continue operating. You want your online memorial to last a long time. See if the website owner has made any provisions to assure that it will be around for a long time, just like you would expect a cemetery to be around for your lifetime. You donโt want to be forced to move your loved ones virtual presence anymore than you would be forced to move their physical presence.

Commercialism should be kept to a minimum. Advertising should be kept as separated from your memorial as possible. It is ok to offer some website related value added features for which there is a charge but they should be tastefully presented and properly placed. Just like you would not want to see billboards selling all types of products, in the cemetery, over the gravesite of your departed loved one, it is distasteful to find internet advertising that is unrelated to the memorial site, placed next to their precious photos and your memories.

The website should list all of the features and what you get offered for your time and money. There should be specifics telling you how much text, photo, audio and video space your online memorial can have. And, there should be an explanation of the features that you can use to create your online memorial.

Blog. The website should have a companion blog that will give you updated news and commentary about relevant issues concerning the website and various topics related to what is happening in the death care industry. It is important that you know these so that you will be aware of changes in the law and the latest trends (i.e., the increase in cremations, legal status of roadside memorials, โgreenโ funerals, etc.).

About Us , About Me, etc. The website should tell you something about why it was developed, about the owner, and about its mission. You should know that there is passion, dedication and caring behind the pages of the website. You should be able to relate to the owner; not as a businessperson, but as a fellow human with a story to tell. Maybe a story similar to yours or one that you sympathize or empathize with.

Choosing the right online memorial website on which to upload text, photos, audio and video should be a well researched decision. It should be one that you feel good about and comfortable with. Armed with the information in this article you will have a better chance of finding the correct match for your online memorial needs.

Bedwetting Diapers Disposable Products For Older Bedwetters

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:16 AM

By Peter Crump

Bedwetting diapers are not just for infants and babies. They come in sizes all the way up to adult so that any one with a bed wetting problem can feel secure that he/she will not wake up to wet sheets in the morning. Along with ensuring you or your child a dry night, wearing diapers at night means you also have less mess to clean up. These diapers are disposable, so they wont add to your mounds of laundry. Actually, disposable bedwetting diapers will cut down on the amount of laundry that you have to do because you will no longer have to wash bedclothes each day.

Even with having bedwetting diapers for your child, you still have to pursue other methods for treating the problem of bed wetting. These diapers can give the child or adult a false sense of relief and not really do anything to help the problem at all. If there is a medical reason for the bedwetting, you know that using bed wetting diapers will probably be only a temporary measure. If there is no medical reason, then you need to combine using an adult bed wetting diaper each night with a method of behavior modification such as using an enuresis alarm to wake the wearer at the first sign of moisture.

There are bedwetting diapers that look just like underpants. This makes it much easier for your child to sleep at a friends house without anyone knowing about the bedwetting. These diapers have an absorbent liner that soaks up the urine and does not let it seep through to the pyjamas or the bedclothes. However, if the child is in bed for a long time, there is the possibility that some of the urine will seep out through the legs of the diapers causing an accident. The top layer of plastic on a bedwetting diaper helps to keep the moisture away from the skin.

You do have to be aware of the cost involved in using larger size disposable bedwetting diapers. This is why you do need to look for treatments that will not only reduce the number of bedwetting episodes, but will help cure the problem. There are child and adult bed wetting diapers that you can get that are reusable. This type of diaper is a cheaper alternative to the disposable bed wetting diaper. It also comes like a pair of underpants or a liner that fits on the underpants. With these adult bedwetting diapers, the person still feels wet, but the wetness does not seep through to the clothing. The wetness helps to wake the adult up so he/she can go to the bathroom.

You do have to choose the best bedwetting diapers for your child. Look at the liners, diapers and absorbent underpants to determine which one would best meet the needs of the child or adult. Liners are strips of absorbent material that have a sticky side that adheres to the underpants, thus keeping them in place. They are not noticeable and will not irritate the skin in the same way as some bedwetting diapers will.

How to Get Your Colicky Baby to Sleep Better

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:14 AM

By Cherie Stirewalt

If you have a colicky baby, you probably have a baby who also isn't sleeping well. Baby sleep problems and colic go hand in hand. And, if your baby is having trouble sleeping, chances are, you are too. So let's help you all get some sleep.

The problem with a baby suffering from colic is they are over stimulated. They seem to have trouble winding down from all the stress they endure throughout the day. Their stress reliever is to cry. But instead of helping them to wind down, the crying often seems to wind them up. The crying gets out of hand, and sleep out of reach.

Along with other colic remedies mentioned throughout this site, there are some other tips you can try to help your baby wind down and help her sleep through the night.

Recognize when your baby is tired

An overtired baby is not a pleasant baby. If your baby is displaying signs of being tired, help them to wind down and put them to bed. Signs of an overtired newborn (infant to 3 months) are:

  • Fussing, whining, crying or screaming

  • Glazed stare, looking away, turning head away, back arching

  • Facial grimaces

  • Clenched fists

  • Flailing arm and leg movements, jerking

  • May seek comfort by sucking/feeding

Make her crib as inviting as possible

The crib should be positioned in comfortable spot in the room, free from drafts. Stay away from heat vents and windows. The crib should have no breathing hazards such as decorative pillows, fuzzy stuffed animals and toys, thick comforters etc.

Take care of the basics

A bath, clean, dry pajamas, a fresh diaper and a content tummy should make your baby comfortable and ready for sleep.

Turn down the lights

Close the blinds, drapes or shutters to block out light. Use a night light so you can check on her if necessary without disturbing her. Aromatherapy can be useful in helping a baby to wind down. Use essential oils of lavender and chamomile for best results.

Turn on the white noise
Your baby spent around nine months in your womb and listened to your heartbeat and other sounds while there. A sound that mimics the noise your baby heard while in the womb is an excellent choice for lulling your baby to sleep. Using a white noise cd routinely will also help mask out other extraneous noises in the house and help your baby sleep sounder and longer.

Be consistent

Babies love routine and consistency. Use the same routine every night. DO NOT VARY. You and your baby will both suffer if you don't stick to a routine.

If you stick to this routine, your colicky baby should be sleeping better in no time.

Diaper Bags

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:20 AM

By Terry Ross

With so many things to get sorted before your baby is born you might not give too much consideration to which diaper bag youโre going to buy. Itโs a common mistake to underestimate the value of such a multi functional piece of kit such as a diaper bag.

Your babyโs diaper bag is going to be with you everywhere you go for the foreseeable future and it will prove far more useful than just storage for diapers so it is well worth taking a little time to decide which diaper bag is the one for you.

For a start diaper bags come in all sorts of sizes and for the regular traveller you might find the bigger the better. You might decide that you need two diaper bags, one specifically packed for trips away and another for those short day to day trips.

You donโt want to be lugging multiple bags around so if you are bottle feeding you might decide to go for a bigger diaper bag so that all you feeding essentials are close to hand.

If you are fashion conscious the appearance of your diaper bag might be more important but if you forego functionality and space for curb appeal you might just find that you regret you decision and have to buy a new diaper bag at a later date. By all means choose a diaper bag that you are happy to be seen going around with but donโt loose site of your babyโs day to day needs.

If you are using cloth diapers donโt forget that you wonโt be just throwing them in a bin so youโll need to be able to take them home. Even though your babyโs soiled diapers will be bagged itโs a good idea to get a diaper bag that has a discrete area for used diapers.

Your baby will probably need at least one change of baby clothes for when you are out and itโs a good idea to have another spare set so make sure you get a diaper bag that is big enough for all your clothing essentials including anything you need just in case the weather changes.

Weโve talked about diapers, feeding equipment and changes of clothes so thatโs a good amount of space used up in your diaper bag already but what about baby wipes, a changing pad and diaper rash cream and then thereโs things to keep your baby amused such as comfort toys, teething rings and other toys.

It can never be said that a baby travels light so a small discrete diaper bag is probably not a good idea. You might be able to cram in the bare essentials to a smaller diaper bag but will you be able to carry everything you need and equally importantly get to your diapers, feed and other essentials at the point you need them. There is nothing worse than scrabbling around and having to pull everything out of your diaper bag to find what you want when your baby is unwilling to wait!

Pregnancy and Hemorrhoids

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:21 AM

By Hannah White

Having been pregnant a few times myself, once with twins, I know exactly how uncomfortable simply being pregnant in the last few weeks can be.

To have this discomfort compounded by the irritation, itching and pain of hemorrhoids doesn't bear thinking about. Sadly, hemorrhoids are relatively common in pregnancy. The weight of your little bundle-of-joy-to-be pressing down on the bowel area is just what is needed to engorge the blood vessels - the result? Hemorrhoids...

Hemorrhoids are just that, simply engorged blood vessels. They can be very uncomfortable. Symptoms include bleeding in the stool, itchiness around the anus, lumps in or around the anus, and pain or irritation.

Hemorrhoids can be internal or external. And if they rupture, they can bleed. Bowel movements are often the cause.

Apart from pregnancy, other contributory factors to the onset of hemorrhoids include a diet low in fibre, not enough water consumption, not enough aerobic exercise, and poor bowel habits... If you need to go, GO!

While their are some prescription medications you can take for hemorrhoids while pregnant and / or breastfeeding, many ladies are reluctant to take drugs for fear of harming their baby. If this is you, it may be worth your while considering a natural hemorrhoids treatment.

For a start, find out more about hemorrhoids, their causes and symptoms and how to prevent them at NaturallyGuaranteed.com. This website also offers a natural hemorrhoids treatment (a topical application) which has been specifically developed for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

You don't need to suffer the pain of hemorrhoids on top of the discomfort of just being huge and ungainly. And you don't have to take prescription medication to relieve hemorrhoidal pain, or to effectively treat and remove hemorrhoids. Many natural alternatives are effective, easy to obtain, and will not harm your fetus or your newborn (always check instructions).

A final note: If you are bleeding from the anus, please see your doctor. If you are pregnant the cause is highly likley to be hemorrhoids, HOWEVER, any bleeding from the anus should be checked by a doctor. If you are not sure if the bleeding is from the anus or the vagina, get to your doctor as quickly as possible.

Shih Tzu - Birth Process/Clearing Passages

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:19 AM

By Connie Limon

Shih Tzu puppies are often born with amniotic fluid present in their lungs. As they take they first breaths a shih tzu puppy may inhale amniotic fluid left in the oral cavities, mouth and nasal passages. These first breaths will be neither lusty nor vigorous if the shih tzu puppy has inhaled amniotic fluid. You will hear a gurgle and bubble sound from the shih tzu puppy and the shih tzu puppy will be unable to produce a lusty cry. What you need to do at this point is hold the newly born shih tzu puppy at a head-down angle. Never position the shih tzu puppy's head higher than its lungs before hearing a vigorous cry!. Do not remove the shih tzu puppy from its proximity to the mother. Depress the bulb of a small syringe and gently insert the tube portion in the shih tzu puppy's mouth. Slowly release the bulb, withdrawing fluids accumulated from the shih tzu puppy's oral cavity. You may need to repeat the procedure two or three times. Follow this by gently swabbing the mouth with a thin clean towel, sterile diaper or cotton swab.

As soon as the shih tzu puppy is free of ties to the placenta, briskly rub it with toweling still in the head-down position. This brisk stimulation of the shih tzu puppy helps the shih tzu puppy's ciruculation, causing it to take deep life-giving breaths.

If the shih tzu puppy's breaths are still gurgling, this is indicative of potentially serious trouble. Gently open the shih tzu puppy's mouth. Make sure the shih tzu puppy's tongue is not rolled back into the throat. Quickly use the bulb syringe and briskly rub the shih tzu puppy down again. Are there bubbles coming from the shih tzu puppy's nose? Hold the shih tzu puppy near your ear and if you continue to hear an abnormal gurgling breathing, you must shake the shih tzu puppy down to clear its lungs and trachea.

Shaking a shih tzu puppy down:
Wrap the shih tzu puppy in a towel to have a secure grip. Hold the shih tzu puppy head-down firmly in both hands. The shih tzu puppy's spine should be along your fingers, its stomach facing your abdomen. One hand supports the head, neck and shoulders. The other hand, directly behind the first, supports the remainder of the shih tzu puppy's spine down past its hips. Stand slightly straddle-legged and think of the shih tzu puppy as a "delicate" but large thermomenter that you must shake down in fluid motions.

Now you are ready to shake the shih tzu puppy down. Neither too fast nor too slow, in an even one-two cadence, swing the shih tzu puppy in an arc from slightly below the level of your shoulders. Continuing the arc, rapidly lower the shih tzu puppy until you are slightly bent over. Stop the arc abruptly when the shih tzu puppy's muzzle faces the floor. The shih tzu puppy's head should be even with or between your legs. Do not bend over so low that the shih tzu puppy is in any position but that of head-down.

Shaking the shih tzu puppy down in this manner helps to clear the lungs, trachea, throat and nasal passages of any accumulated fluids. A small spray of amniotic fluid may fly out of the shih tzu puppy's nose and mouth when it is shaken down in this manner.

After shaking the shih tzu puppy down two or three times. Stop. Listen to the shih tzu puppy's breathing. It should sound much clear. If the shih tzu puppy is still not breathing well, continue to repeat the procedure over several minutes, as necessary. When the shih tzu puppy has had enough, the life-threatening gurgles will change to a loud, clear-sounding lusty cry. And wha-la, you have saved the tiny life of a shih tzu puppy.

Baby on Board Shower Party Ideas

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:15 AM

By Gail Leino

Everyone loves a baby! Even more fun is the anticipation of the birth, even if the sex is known. To plan your Baby Shower, decide if you will be needing pink, blue or a non-gender color like green or yellow for your decorations. The color can coordinate with another theme, or strictly be left on its own.

Baby showers require invitations. The party supply planning store will have many different styles to choose from. They can belong to a theme or be a plain one you pick out, or even a postcard format. Whats important is the date, time and where the expectant mother is registered at.

There are a ton of games to play at a baby shower. Whether the sex is known or not, make a copy of the ultrasound picture for every guest. They can play two games with the pictures: name the baby and guess the babys sex, weight and length. Their guesses can all be recorded into a book for use after baby is born to determine a winner! They can keep the picture as a momento and put in a frame if they like.

Other fun games to play include taste testing baby food. Remove all of the labels off and have everyone taste a sample and try to name it. Another thinking games involves trivia. Pick TV shows from the past and present and have them list all of the children from each show.

Favors for all of the games can include candles, lotions or craft items. Decorations can be minimal or cover the entire room or house in your chosen color. Balloons, streamers and wall hangings can be used in a house, church hall or restaurant private room. If you are serving food, a party supply store will have all of the necessary paper products and utensils for easy clean up.

Mrs. Party Gail Leino is the internet's leading authority on selecting the best possible "Party Supplies" party supplies, using proper etiquette and manners while also teaching organizational skills and fun facts. Baby Item Checklist and Your Budget

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:29 AM

By Lee Brochstein

Bare Baby Item Checklist

* Crib & Mattress

* Dresser/Changing Table & Pad

* Rocker/Glider

* Bouncer Seat

* Stroller

* Car seat

* Bumper Pad. This is a necessity. It will be used until your baby can stand in the crib.

* Crib Sheets. I suggest two fitted crib sheets. If you use a changing pad over the crib sheet, that takes care of leaks from the diapers, so you won't have to change the sheets but once a week.

* Mobile. This is a MUST! One that plays music is great, it helps soothe when it is time for a nap or bedtime.

* Changing Table Cover. I would buy at least two of these, then with the changing pad, which is waterproof over the cover, you are safe!

* 5-10 onesies or rompers, make sure very few are Newborn size, as they grow out of these within a week or so

* 5-7 sleepers, although these are great, if you don't want to spend the cash, you can always sleep them in onesies, which makes it easier for those late night diaper changes!

* 5-7 pairs of socks, make sure the elastic is good on the socks. These are a necessity, especially if you don't put your child in feety rompers.

* Your baby will come home with the newborn hat from the hospital, and it is not necessary to buy any more of these.

* Although baby clothes are cute, remember, one or two outfits is plenty. Your baby grows quickly, and if they spit up, those outfits get ruined very fast!

* 2 packs MINIMUM of disposable diapers or enough cloth diapers for at least two days. Newborns are changed around 10 times a day.

* Waterproof pad for diaper changes, it is essential to have one on the changing table and one in the crib, then get one for extra when you need it.

* 5 washcloths. These work for wiping their bottoms when they are first born with warm water, which avoids rashes on sensitive skin, as well as for bathing.

* 2 hooded towels

* 1 bottle of gentle baby wash. This can also be used on their heads, so having a shampoo as well is not a necessity.

* nail clippers and a small emery board; nails grow quickly and they are very soft. It is sometimes easier to file than to cut them until they are older.

* Forehead thermometer, which gives an accurate reading, if you don't want to spend the money, then a rectal thermometer and some Vaseline

* 10 burp cloths; I recommend the ones that come in a pack and are just white. They serve a ton of different needs, from actual burp cloths to placing them in a diaper bag to change the baby on and cover up the changing pad you have.

* 5 blankets; babies like to be cocooned for the first few months. After that, these are great to just place over them in the crib

* 8 bottles if you are not breast feeding and 4 if you are; you need a place to store the milk if you are pumping. If you are breast feeding you may also want some lansolin for sore nipples and nipple covers, which help with staining, as well as 2 or 3 very good breast feeding bras.

* Make sure you bring the nasal aspirator home from the hospital, these work great throughout your child's life!

* Diaper rash cream. This is a personal choice, but Dr. Smith's is great as is Aquafor.

* One or two pacifiers. Start out with one, as not every baby will take one.

* monitor. ESSENTIAL! One that can go with you wherever you are in the house is great. You don't want to be stuck in one room all the time, and you will be able to hear everything.

* Baby bath tub, but get one that they can grow in to. They get bigger quick enough that you don't want to have to replace it every 3 months!

* A LARGE bottle of Dreft. This is great for the clothing and towels, and you will have a ton of laundry. It is gentle and also scent free. It may also be smart to invest in the Dreft Stain Remover spray. If you are feeding with formula, it does stain.

* Bibs. I would buy the packs that have quite a few. These are really imperative for feeding, even before they are on solid foods. Also, when the teeth come in, it is a great way to keep them dry!

* Bottle Brush. Inexpensive, and helps get all the residue out of the bottle before you put it in the dishwasher.

* Extra bottle nipples. Note that these come in different sizes, so don't buy too many of one size. If your baby is a good eater, they move up to the larger sizes quickly.

* Diaper Bag. ESSENTIAL! Get one that has a portable changing pad, and lots of pockets and room. You will need to tote bottles, toys, extra clothes, diapers, and it is smart to have some plastic bags for soiled clothing and diapers...just in case!

That's it! While there are many baby products on the market that make a parent's life easier, most are wants, not needs. Although it may be tempting to buy every gadget on the shelf, remember, your budget baby will be just as happy with the basic items that he or she really needs.

Trendy Diaper Bags

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:34 AM

The diaper bags that are made today are no longer heavy or bulky that women carry out of necessity, rather than necessity and style. Modern diaper bags are trendy, stylish and very urban in design. Diaper bags are a necessity for many parents with a modern day lifestyle. Although comfort and carrying capacity used to be the major criteria for buying a diaper bag, the focus is also on making a trendy style statement. Natural Pain Remedies Gaining Favor With Medical Students

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:28 AM

By No Last Name

Advocators of natural pain remedies are delighted with the recent Medical Students' reaction to pharmaceutical manufacturers' gifts. A group called PharmFree is the initiative of the 60,000-strong American Medical Student Association. Their efforts so far include meeting with 40,000 American physicians to urge them not to accept any more "Big Pharma" freebies, and to direct them toward sources of information about drugs that are unaffiliated with the pharmaceutical industry.

The lengths to which pharmaceutical makers go to make sure doctors know about - and write prescriptions for - their drugs is well known. The all-expense-paid trips to Hawaii and other exotic locales, the lavish "educational" conferences in Vegas, the free tickets to sporting events and other perks, and the loitering sales personnel at medical schools. This is not to mention all the free meals, pens, notepads, eye glass cases, free samples of drugs, and other gratis items "Big Pharma" dishes out to doctors.

According to data from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, this kind of spending rose from just over $12 billion in 1999 to over $22 billion in 2003 creating vast vested interest situations by obligating doctors to "push" their drugs.

Without the Hippocratic Oath to follow, it seems many doctors have lost sight of their high principles. But this reaction from our medical students, gives us hope for the future generation of doctors and their medical ethics. Let us hope that the Hippocratic Oath is returned to its rightful place at Med School graduation."

The medical students' feelings ran high as they staged a protest at Pfizer's New York headquarters, where they dumped tens of thousands of logo-sporting pens back onto the company's doorstep. They replaced these pens with ones of their own with the PharmFree name and logo emblazoned on them. These actions themselves prove that all is not well in the current distribution of pharmaceuticals. The floods of TV and other media ads have turned Americans into hypochondriacs, and having doctors add their endorsements to them, makes things worse.

The side effects and addictive characteristics of almost every heavily advertised analgesic is becoming better known all the time, and the alternative for sufferers, are the far more beneficial results to be had from natural pain remedies.

Causes Treatment and Prevention of Diaper Rash

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:30 AM

By C. Dunn

Diaper rash is easy to see. It's a red rash on your child's bottom. The redness may be appear with blisters or pimples if your baby has bad diaper rash. This redness appears on the child's bottom, genitals and in the creases of the leg.

What Causes Diaper Rash?: All babies will usually get diaper rash at one point or another. If your baby has diaper rash, it is not a sign of neglect on your part. Diaper rash is a normal thing that occurs during the time in which babies wear diapers. Here are some of the primary causes for diaper rash:

-sensitivity to urine

-sensitivity to certain brands of diapers

-sensitivity to detergent used to wash cloth diapers

-soiled diaper left on too long

-diapers that are too small

-bacterial infection

Diaper Rash Treatment: To treat diaper rash, you must keep the area cool and dry. Do this by changing wet or soiled diapers promptly. Once you wipe the area clean, allow it to air dry before applying any ointment. You can also:

-pat the area when changing diapers, making sure to get it clean

-use a diaper rash cream

-soak your baby's bum in warm soapy water or use warm water instead of wipes

Preventing Diaper Rash: To prevent diaper rash, you can:

-change wet and soiled diapers frequently

-don't put the next diaper on until the skin is fully dry

-buy a different brand of diapers

-use diaper rash cream regularly

-don't over tighten diapers

-change laundry detergent used to wash cloth diapers

5 Steps for Clutter Control

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:27 AM

By O Quinn

To help control the items clogging your home follow these five simple steps to keep track of what you have and keep it organized.

1. Daily Organization: Spend just a few minutes each day getting things in order in your home. This involves putting away the daily mess that accumulates. Putting the newspaper away. Cleaning off the dining table. The dishes. Set the timer if you feel you are spending too much time on this. Limit it to 15 in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening always making sure that a dirty kitchen is a the top of your list.

2. Purge: Dont build up needless garbage in your home. Dont have endless stacks of newspapers or recyclables. Whenever you leave the house dont do so empty handed. Take the junk with you. This includes your donations.

3. File It Away: Set up a good filing system and use it . It will help considerably with those papers you never know what to do with. The bills, receipts, information such as appliance manuals you want to hold on to.

4. Never Make an Unproductive Trip: In your home I mean. Never travel from one room to another in your home without doing something small in each room that helps keep the area clean or taking something out and putting it where it belongs. For example. If I am going to my babys room to get her blanket I will take something that belongs in her room with me. Or when I am in her room I will do something small such as putting back the diaper cream where it belongs or folding a few items in her clean laundry basket and stashing them where they belong. Just something small. Dont overwhelm yourself. One item is all it takes.

5. Think Vertically: Lets face it sometimes we just live in small spaces. Apartments or homes that are just too small for our needs and we dont have the necessary resources to move. Well then think vertical. Look at all those lovely empty walls around you and think about putting up shelves to help organize your belongings. They dont have to be fancy because you can go pretty with what you put on them. Fabric covered boxes and wicker baskets are just a few ways to organize on shelves with style.

Start with these five steps and watch your home become more clutter free.

Different Types Of Diaper Bags

By LynnMarie S.

Diaper bags are a mothers best friend. The name indicates the bag is designed for carrying diapers, but they are so much more. They are a purse, changer and feeder all in one. Modern sdiaper bags play a number of roles and with trendy styles look just as great with baby in tow as with hubby in tow. Unique designer diaper bags are popping up all over and are the trendy choice among moms. Personalized bags are part of the new wave in diaper bag fashion and have become a huge hit at baby showers.

The basic requirement for a diaper bag is to provide enough space for diapers. After all thats what theyre called. The modern day has brought about diaper bags which not only provide space for diapers, but also for bottles, toys, clothing, camera, keys and cell phones. Separate compartments and storage areas are sprinkled throughout the bag in order to maximize space. Some diaper bags come equipped with a changing pad so mom can change baby on the spot. As with anything carried by a mother, fashion has stepped to the forefront in diaper bag design. Some diaper bags work just as well as a day bag for mom while running errands as it is with cleaning dirty diapers. Designer bags from the trendiest designers are becoming some of the most popular bags around.

Diaper bags come in three basic styles. Diaper bag totes are the most common diaper bags. They are as stylish as designer handbags and often times are the ones that double as handbags. Diaper bag totes dont have as many storage pockets as backpacks but are often more aesthetically appealing. Diaper bag backpacks make toting supplies easier because they are hands free. The backpack features a lot of storage space and pockets for carrying anything from diapers to a pair of dresses. Diaper bag slings are the latest trend in diaper bags. They resemble messenger bags and make life easier on the shoulders and back. Dad will love to carry around the diaper bag sling because it doesnt resemble the prototypical diaper bag and can often be mistaken for a professional bag.

The type of closure is important in diaper bag selection. Accessing the contents quickly and efficiently may be easier for some with zipper top. The zipper top is most common seen while the snap or tie helps open the bag quickly too. But, the contents can easily spill out with snap or tie opening. Most bags can wipe down easily with warm water. Insulated pouches can be found in high end bags.

As much as convenience is important, style is just as big with a diaper bag. If mom is going to have to wear it she is going to want it for her look. The selection of the right diaper bag will give mom confidence while out with baby.

Cleaning Tips For Your Precious Window

House cleaning is a daily routine that many housewives are used to and this includes window cleaning. As easy as it may sound, cleaning your windows requires good cleaning skills so that you can get better results every time you clean them.

So why is window cleaning needed? The answers are quite simple; one is to get a better view, another is for heat efficiency, and if you want, you can even become a professional window cleaner and earn income.

To clean your window screens, you can use hand-held vacuum. This gadget can easily remove all the dirt contained on the window tracks and frames.

When cleaning your glass window, wash panes from left and then to the right (outside portion) and for the inside, wash it from top to the bottom.

Make sure that you clean the top most window and work your way down to avoid drips or streaks.

You can use your old newspapers by scrunching them up although it can turn your hands into a dirty black color. Other people use cotton rags, cloth diaper, coffee filter, or percale pillowcase to clean their glass windows. What's good about these items is that you can also use them to clean your mirrors.

Your window screens also should be kept clean. Simply lay the window screen over a fence or wall and rinse it using a hose. The dirt can be removed easily. Mix water and dish detergent and use this solution to scrub the remaining dirt off the window screen. Use a brush for this task.

Don't rush your window cleaning task. Take your time and don't just clean the glass; the entire window should be cleaned. If you notice that your window locks are stuck, remove them first and prepare warm water where you can soak the locks. Clean the locks thoroughly.

Some homes have tall windows making it hard to clean. You can also make use of certain handy devices which are designed to clean the portions of the window which you can't reach. Cleaning solutions can also help in making the task easier and faster.

Your window needs gentle care so make sure that you clean them regularly.

Informations On Gastroenteritis

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:21 AM

By peterhutch

Gastroenteritis refers to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, involving both the stomach and the small intestine and resulting in acute diarrhea. The inflammation is caused most often by infection with certain viruses, less often by bacteria or their toxins, parasites, or adverse reaction to something in the diet or medication. Worldwide, inadequate treatment of gastroenteritis kills 5 to 8 million people per year, and is a leading cause of death among infants and children under 5.

It is an illness which may cause symptoms like diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting, nausea, fever and headache. The causes of gastroenteritis are bacteria, viruses and certain parasites, found in soil, animals including birds, and humans.Gastroenteritis is also sometimes referred to as "stomach flu," even though it is not related to influenza.

Gastroenteritis Causes

Many different viruses can cause gastroenteritis, including rotaviruses, noroviruses, adenoviruses, type 40 or 41, sapoviruses, and astroviruses. Viral gastroenteritis is not caused by bacteria (such as Salmonella or Escherichia coli) or parasites (such as Giardia), or by medications or other medical conditions, although the symptoms may be similar.

Infections that cause gastroenteritis can be transmitted from person to person, especially if people with diarrhea do not thoroughly wash their hands after a bowel movement. Infection also can occur if people touch their mouth after touching an object (such as a diaper or toy) contaminated by infected stool. All such transmission involving infected stool is termed โfecal-oral transmission.โ A person, and sometimes large numbers of people, can also become infected by eating food or drinking water that has been contaminated by infected stool.

Gastroenteritis Symptoms

Gastroenteritis symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, fever, and weight loss. Gastroenteritis is usually the one that does not deserve much attention as it rarely gets you into serious repercussions. It ideally lasts for a maximum of 1 to 2 days. There are several home treatments that can relieve gastroenteritis symptoms and prevent problems, such as dehydration. A simple mixture of salt and sugar dissolved in water could be the easiest to administer.

Gastroenteritis Treatment

The mainstay of home treatment of gastroenteritis is hydration. Dehydration will make the symptoms of nausea and vomiting worse and compound symptoms.

Clear fluids should be consumed for the first 24 hours, then gradually progress the diet as tolerated. Clear fluids are anything you can see through. Popsicles and jell-o work well, since they are ingested slowly. Drinking too much fluid too quickly will distend the stomach and worsen the nausea.

Medicines to decrease the diarrhoea and vomiting may be used when symptoms are severe. Food can be given with no restrictions as soon as the patient is able to eat without discomfort. It is a common misconception that foods worsen diarrhoea but this has not been shown to be the case in carefully done studies.

Diaper Bags

A diaper bag, as the name suggests is quite obviously a bag that stores diapers. However, most have enough space for a wide range of baby accessories and have proved to be a wonderful solution for busy parents. A diaper bag stores diapers, toys, medicines, pacifiers, snacks and anything else you might need to keep baby comfortable and happy. As a matter of fact, diaper bags are as important as a diaper -- an equally indispensable part of a baby's growing up years.

Over the years, diaper bags have evolved immensely and are now custom-made in a variety of styles and colors to compliment mom and baby on their day out. Created primarily for convenience, some modern bags are a superb blend of logic and design, proving to be extremely functional as well as fashionable.

Traditionally, diaper bags were bulky carry-alls, made out of plastic(meant to be leak-proof) with one huge pocket and several smaller ones. They looked outdated and highly unattractive. Now, you may come across bags made out of micro fiber with plenty of pockets. There are others made of a combination of tweed and leather.

When buying a diaper bag, remember that the most essential convenience the bag should have is space for a variety of products beyond diapers.

Also keep in mind that prices for diaper bags start low and can go high(particularly if you choose a designer bag). Another thing to keep in mind would be the budget. Parents should opt for bags that suit their lifestyle and those of their children the best.

Diaper bags, as we can see, diaper bags are extremely important for a baby. They contribute to the baby's mobility and also provide ready relief for parents who dread excess baggage while traveling with their babies.

How to Arrange a Diaper Cake Pattern

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:27 AM

Deciding what to get a mom-to-be for her baby shower can be an enormously taxing ordeal, particularly for those who have not attended a baby shower and have not had children themselves. One small piece of advice for those who are uncertain about what to get--the more useful it is, the more appreciated it will be. As any veteran parent knows, the first few weeks after a baby is born are incredibly taxing, not only on the body and mind, but also on the finances. Therefore, the gift of diapers is not only very appropriate, but also incredibly appreciated.

Some may shy away from the idea of giving diapers because it does not seem to be a very personal gift. The way to get around this apprehension is to personalize the presentation of the gift by arranging the diapers in a pattern. A diaper cake pattern consists of using newborn diapers to create the illusion of a multi layered cake. A diaper cake pattern, when properly constructed, looks amazingly like a real cake, and many baby shower attendees assume that that is precisely what it is until the gift is given or until they inspect it more closely.

There are a number of ways to arrange newborn diapers into a diaper cake pattern, but most involve rolling the diapers into a column shape and then stacking them on one another in layers. From a distance, the diaper material looks like cake frosting, and the illusion can be quite convincing (and, therefore, entertaining).
